Lesson Excerpt
Once elected, a president serves a term of four years. The only president that was permitted to serve more than two terms was Franklin Roosevelt. He served three terms and was even re-elected for a fourth term, but he died in office. The law now limits the number of terms a president can serve. A president can only serve up to two terms. Currently, the salary of the president is $400,000.
