Lesson Excerpt
1. Teacher and students brainstorm types of jobs in the community, such as police officer, fire fighter, doctor, nurse, teacher, librarian, park ranger, store owner, restaurant manager, theater manager, bank manager. Students write down these job types in their journals while teacher writes the job types on the board.
2. Students glue two popsicle sticks together in an “X” position and staple four pieces of string/yarn [about one foot in length] to the four ends of each stick.
