Summary
This lesson introduces triangles. It is designed to follow a lesson on drawing angles, and assumes that the children are able to use a protractor to measure angles.

• The children will be able to explain the difference between right, acute and obtuse triangles.

• The children will be able to measure and draw all three types of triangles.

Lesson Excerpt
Polygons are closed shapes which have three or more sides. A square is a polygon and so is a triangle. Most polygons are named according to the number of sides or angles they have. Tri means three. So a tricycle has three wheels, and a triangle has three sides and three angles.
