Lesson Excerpt
There are four types of sentences:

1. Telling Sentences. This kind of sentence tells us something or states a fact. Telling sentences always end with a period.

• Thomas Edison was an inventor.

2. Asking Sentences. This kind of sentence asks a question. Asking sentences usually begin with a word that asks a question. Words like who, what, when, where, why, did and does are all words that ask a question. Asking sentences always end with a question mark.

• Did you know Thomas Edison invented the telephone?
