Lesson Excerpt
1. Students will create a timeline using a ruler to draw a 12-inch horizontal line across a sheet of thick white 8-1/2 x 11 inch paper. The timeline will reflect one full calendar year and will be 12 inches in length with each inch representing each month of the calendar year.
2. Teacher will explain and display the state and national holidays on the board and on a sheet of paper that will be distributed to each student to use for his/her project. The holiday will have the formal title as well as the date.
